my script for the podcast

Hello! And thank you for listening to our podcast.
Our Class is working on the creation of a class vegetable garden, and tasting party. Some of the areas we are concentrating on are, the steps to building a garden, and once we harvest these vegetables, we plan to pull from the cultural influences of our penpals in Guerrero, Mexico. This will allow us to transform our vegetables into several tasty dishes for our faculty at our tasting party.

To successfully complete this assignment we are using Project Based Learning also known as PBL.

Project Based Learning engages students in real-world, hands-on projects.

There are so many benefits students gain from participating in Project Based Learning.
Students develop good communication skills. They develop good inquiry skills and technology skills. Students learn to be flexible in work hours, so deadlines can be met.

One of the reasons educators are going towards project based learning, are the 21st century skills that are embedded in the projects.

These skills are important to students today because they can be applied to real life situations. Including college and the work force.

Some of these skills are:

  • ·         Student’s ability to use higher-order thinking.

  • ·         Their ability to analyze, evaluate and create the information given to them.

  • ·         Students will collaborate and create with one another.

  • ·         Students know and understand the importance of relationships with team members.
